Attorney Joel Davis receives Board Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law

(Greensboro, N.C., November 27, 2007) – Joel Davis, an attorney with the Deuterman Law Group in downtown Greensboro, has earned the status of a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. This designation is a testament to Davis’s expertise, his performance as an attorney and his reputation in the legal community.

The N.C. State Bar, through the Board of Legal Specialization, determines which attorneys statewide become board certified specialists. To become legal specialists, attorneys are required to have practiced a minimum of five years, undergo peer review by other attorneys and judges, participate in continuing legal education in the subject matter and pass a board exam.

Davis, along with Deuterman Law Group founding attorney Daniel L. Deuterman, is one of only a few attorneys in the Triad recognized as a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation.

Joel Davis, a champion for disabled workers, has extensive experience in helping people win workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability benefits after they have been previously denied. Davis received his undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern College in 1996, and graduated from Tulane University Law School, J.D., in 2000. He was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2000.

He is a member of the N.C. Academy of Trial Lawyers (NCATL), the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the N.C. Bar Association (NCBA), the Workplace Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG), the Greensboro Bar Association (GBA), the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR) and the Guilford Inn of Court.

Davis’s areas of practice include Social Security Disability, Workers' Compensation, wrongful death, and auto, truck and motorcycle accidents.

He lives in Greensboro with his wife, Erin, and their son and daughter.
